SEATTLE, WA – October 30, 2014 — One Mind has been recognized by Starbucks, HBO and Chase, co-sponsors of THE CONCERT FOR VALOR, for outstanding service and support of veterans and their families. THE CONCERT FOR VALOR a first-of-its-kind concert to honor the courage and sacrifice of America’s veterans and their families on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to be presented live on HBO this Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11 (7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT).

As part of the event, One Mind will be one of 16 veteran service organizations (VSOs) highlighted for outstanding service and support of veterans and their families. An advisory committee led by Co-Chairs Admiral Mike Mullen and Secretary Robert Gates and comprised of thought leaders and passionate supporters of VSOs was assembled to make these selections. The committee used a thoughtful selection process, and identified outstanding VSOs that address one of the following core pillars of successful transition for veterans and their families: employment, education, health and wellness, and reintegration. Additional committee members include executives at Starbucks, HBO, JP Morgan Chase, and the Schultz Family Foundation.

"One Mind is honored to be recognized as one of the highlighted VSOs among the thousands of incredible organizations that serve post-9/11 Veterans and their families,” said One Mind CEO General Pete Chiarelli (Retired). “What Starbucks, HBO and Chase have created in order to provide an opportunity for our country to come together and show gratitude for the sacrifices Veterans and their families have made is truly admirable. With our focus revolving around the need for collaboration in order to find better diagnostics and treatments for the invisible wounds of war, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), we look forward to joining the cause to help raise awareness and show support for this monumental event and for our service members."

As co-sponsors of the event, Starbucks, HBO and Chase provide a national stage for ensuring that veterans and their families know that their fellow Americans’ gratitude is genuine. The concert will feature a broad array of talent from the worlds of music and entertainment, including Eminem, Jamie Foxx, Dave Grohl, Metallica, John Oliver, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band, as well as special appearances by Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, among many others.
