Awards and Recognition

The leadership team of One Mind has been recognized for the brain health advocacy and volunteer work they have done. Below are a few of the notable awards they have received.

2019

14th Annual Yale Mental Health Research Advocacy Award – Given to Shari and Garen Staglin “In recognition of your many initiatives to advance mental health and brain research through NARSAD, your annual Music Festival for Brain Health, your Rising Star Award, and One Mind.”

2018

2018 Ellis Island Medal of Honor – Given by the Ellis Island Honor Society to Shari and Garen Staglin. Awarded to individuals whose accomplishments in their field and inspired service to our nation are cause for celebration.

2018 UCLA Alumni of the Year – Given by the University of California, Los Angeles to Shari and Garen Staglin. They were selected from 500,000 alumni from UCLA.

2018 Gordon and Llura Gund Leadership Award – Given by Research America to Shari and Garen Staglin. Prior award winners include Vice President Joe Biden (2017) and Michel Bloomberg (2014).

2017

2017 Mental Health America Clifford W. Beers AwardGiven by Mental Health America to Brandon Staglin.

2017 Brain Science and Research Award– Given by Mental Health California to Shari and Garen Staglin.

Courage and Influence Award – Given by the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance (SARDA) to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2016

Heart of Napa Award for Corporate Community Services – Given to Shari and Garen Staglin.

Lifetime Achievement VOICE Award – Given by the United States Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to Shari, Garen, Brandon and Shannon Staglin. This is one of a few of this particular award ever given.

2014

Shattering Stigma – Realizing Recovery Award – Given by the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America to Brandon Staglin.

2013

2013 Ray of Light Award – Given by the Davenee Foundation to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2012

2012 “Catchers in the Rye” Humanitarian Award – Given by the American Association of Childhood Psychiatry to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2010

2010 Corporate Award – Given by The JED Foundation to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2010 Honored Vintner – Given by the Naples Winter Wine Festival to Shari and Garen Staglin (Staglin Family Vineyard).

2009

2009 Carolyn Cooper Award – Given by the United Advocates for Children and Family to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2009 Erasing the Stigma Leadership Award – Given by the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2008

2008 Allen Ewig Award – Given by Aldea Family and Children Services to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2007

2007 Visionary Philanthropist Award – Given by the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD) to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2006

2006 Shining Stars Leadership Award – Given by the Alliance for Community Care to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2006 Honorary Fellows – Given by the UCLA College of Letters and Science to Shari and Garen Staglin. This is the highest award for volunteer service to UCLA.

2005

2005 Jefferson Award – Given by the American Institute for Public Service to Shari and Garen Staglin.

2004

2004 Eli Lilly Honorary Public Eye Award – Given by Eli Lilly to Shari and Garen Staglin. Recognizes individuals who have worked to raise awareness of schizophrenia and related disorders, and/or bipolar disorder, on a local or national level.

2002

The Wine and Food Industry 2002 Achievement Award – Given by the Anti-Defamation League to Shari and Garen Staglin (Staglin Family Vineyard).

2000

2000 Gold Spike Award – Given by Stanford University and Stanford Associates to Garen Staglin. This award is the highest award for volunteer service to Stanford.
