One Mind has partnered with PatientsLikeMe (PLM), a pioneer in building and engaging outcomes-based online patient communities, to create a customized world-class experience for members living with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

The website is used by people with chronic conditions, allowing them to connect and share with others, and provide their health data if they choose, while the user-driven analytical platform delivers value through sophisticated statistical-based means. Clinicians and researchers also use the site to track and better understand the patient experience.

Learn more about some of the people the PatientsLikeMe online communities benefit via the three below #MoreThan video clips:

The value in working together

The primary goal of the One Mind / PatientsLikeMe partnership is to support the individual patient and/or caregiver by providing better resources for day-to-day living within the PTS and TBI online communities. Patients are able to connect with others who have the same disease or condition, learn about living with and treating life-changing conditions, and track medications and other health-related activities to make it easier for them to manage their care in partnership with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

These online communities have also generated a significant amount of patient-reported qualitative and quantitative data. With user permission, the data will be captured and analyzed by dedicated research teams to uncover more effective products, services and care around PTS and TBI.

In addition, this data — along with the TRACK-TBI, TED and CENTER-TBI databases — will enrich an already large data set and advance the science in a fraction of the time typically required.
