Dr. Carl Sellgren-Majkowitz
By combining glial biology with developmental neuroscience, Dr. Sellgren-Majkowitz’s lab is illuminating cellular drivers of schizophrenia and related disorders.
Dr. Carl Sellgren-Majkowitz is a Group Leader and Associate Professor at the Karolinska Institutet, where he investigates the neurobiological mechanisms driving neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders. After earning his M.D. and Ph.D. from Karolinska and completing his psychiatry residency in Stockholm, he pursued postdoctoral research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His lab combines developmental and glial biology with disease modeling to uncover the cellular and molecular drivers of conditions such as schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses.
