
Dr. Denise Cai
Dr. Cai’s lab has made landmark contributions to understanding how memories are formed, stored, and retrieved, earning recognition for innovative approaches to learning and memory research.
Dr. Denise J. Cai is an Associate Professor with tenure at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she studies the neural mechanisms of learning and memory. After earning her Ph.D. in psychology and behavioral neuroscience from UC San Diego, she completed postdoctoral training with Dr. Alcino Silva at UCLA. Her research has earned her numerous honors, including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the McKnight Memory and Cognitive Disorders Award, and the One Mind Rising Star Award. Dr. Cai is also recognized as an Allen Institute Next Generation Leader and a Klingenstein-Simons Fellow.
