Dr. Devanand Manoli
Dr. Manoli’s lab is revealing how social bonds form and falter in mental illness, translating basic neurocircuitry discoveries into potential treatments for disorders of attachment.

Combining molecular, genetic, and developmental approaches, he investigates how environmental and genetic factors shape social behavior and vulnerability to illness. Dr. Manoli earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from Stanford University and completed psychiatry training and a child psychiatry fellowship at UCSF.
