At UT Austin’s Center for Psychedelic Research and Therapy, Dr. Fonzo’s work is clarifying the neurobiological mechanisms of psychedelic treatments, shaping future protocols for depression and PTSD.

Dr. Greg Fonzo is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor at UT Austin’s Dell Medical School, where he co-directs the Center for Psychedelic Research and Therapy. He specializes in evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, and PTSD, with a research focus on the neurobiological mechanisms underlying affective disorders and their treatments. Dr. Fonzo earned his Ph.D. from the SDSU/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral Program and completed advanced fellowships at Stanford and the VA. His NIH- and BBRF-funded work appears in leading journals such as JAMA Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, and Science Translational Medicine.
