Dr. Ian Maze
The Maze Lab is pioneering research on how chromatin regulation shapes brain plasticity, linking epigenetic mechanisms to psychiatric and neurological conditions.
Dr. Ian S. Maze is a chromatin biologist and neuroscientist whose research explores how chromatin regulatory mechanisms influence neural plasticity and contribute to neurodevelopmental, cognitive, and psychiatric disorders. His multidisciplinary lab uses biochemical, biophysical, physiological, and behavioral approaches to investigate the molecular basis of brain function and disease. By studying rodent models, postmortem human brains, and human iPSC-derived neurons, Dr. Maze aims to uncover chromatin-driven processes underlying neurological and psychiatric conditions.
