
Dr. Lisa Monteggia
Dr. Monteggia’s lab bridges molecular neuroscience with translational psychiatry, uncovering mechanisms that inform novel mental health treatments.
Dr. Lisa Monteggia is the Barlow Family Director of the Vanderbilt Brain Institute and Professor of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, recognized for her work in molecular psychiatry and the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Chicago Medical School while working in the pharmaceutical industry, completed postdoctoral training with Dr. Eric Nestler at Yale, and previously served as Professor of Neuroscience and Ginny and John Eulich Professor in Autism Spectrum Disorders at UT Southwestern. Dr. Monteggia’s research bridges molecular mechanisms with translational insights into mental health.
