Dr. Xin Jin
The Jin Lab is transforming knowledge of brain cell development by identifying genetic, physiological, and environmental factors that drive neurological health and disease.
Dr. Xin Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and a member of the Dorris Neuroscience Center at Scripps Research. She earned her B.Sc. in chemistry from MIT and her Ph.D. in biology from Rockefeller University under Cori Bargmann, followed by a junior fellowship at the Harvard Society of Fellows. Her lab investigates how brain cell types are generated and mature, and how genetic, physiological, and environmental factors shape this process. Using advanced genomic and in vivo screening tools, the Jin Lab uncovers cell- and tissue-specific mechanisms underlying brain development and disease risk.
