Illuminating Autism Genetics: Dr. Lauren Weiss

Welcome back to Brain Waves! Dr. Lauren Weiss, Staglin Family / One Mind Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF, talks about her investigations into autism’s genetic roots. As she explains, her research has already turned up many new autism risk genes, one of which has led to an effective way to diagnose autism in some patients. She also shares how people with autism may join her studies.

Comments are now closed. Many thanks to Dr. Weiss for appearing.

Stay tuned for next month’s interview and Q&A with Dr. Sophia Vinogradov of UCSF, whose computer-based cognitive exercises are being shown to help people with schizophrenia improve their cognitive ability and quality of life.
