A Mental Health Leader Against Stigma: Katherine Switz

One of my favorite aspects of working in mental health advocacy is that I get to meet people who inspire me. Katherine Switz is a shining example. She directs a corporation, has earned a Harvard MBA, has worked all around the world to improve developing economies, and lives successfully with bipolar disorder. Last year, she founded The Stability Network, an organization which convenes leaders who live with their own mental health conditions to speak out, to fight stigma. Mental health stigma presents one of society’s greatest challenges to getting people to treatment, to offering equal rights to people with brain disease, and to raising funding for research and care, I truly admire Katherine’s convictions and actions.
