From Our Generation to Yours: A Health Conversation Across Generations
October 3, 2026
Panel Discussion | Co-hosted by the Japanese American Association of New York & Japanese Medical Society of America
Location: Japanese American Association of New York (New York, NY)

Held as part of the Japanese American Association of New York’s 20th Autumn Health Fair, this reverse-mentoring panel brought together physicians and researchers across generations for a candid conversation about physical and mental health. The panelists shared perspectives spanning clinical medicine, computational psychiatry, workplace mental health, and music, and reflected on how health conversations travel between generations, from older generations to young professionals, within the Japanese and Japanese American community. Panelist Dr. Kiyohito Iigaya, recipient of the 2026 One Mind Ben Langford and Nicholas Hall Rising Star Award, also shared the research the award supports: understanding the loss of pleasure in depression.
