One Mind at Work is Recognized for their Impactful Mental Health Initiative.
Rutherford, CA, May 14, 2024 — The winners of Fast Company’s 2024 World Changing Ideas Awards were announced today with One Mind at Work, a global non-profit leader dedicated to building the future of workforce mental health, the winner in the Workplace category.
The Mental Health at Work Index, a collaborative effort between One Mind at Work, Ethisphere, and the Columbia University Mental Health + Work Design Lab, has garnered widespread acclaim for its pioneering approach to addressing workplace mental health. Named winner in the Workplace category of Fast Company’s esteemed World Changing Ideas Awards, this recognition highlights the Index’s significant impact and innovative approach to supporting business leaders and driving solutions. Since its launch in May 2023, the Index has rapidly gained traction, with industry leaders such as Bank of America, Axa, Aon, and nearly 70 others, representing over 2 million workers globally, embracing its methodology to assess and enhance their mental health programs and practices.
“With so many exciting new initiatives focused on workforce mental health, we are especially honored to be named the winner in the workplace category of Fast Company’s 2024 World Changing Ideas Awards,” said Dr. Kathy Pike, CEO of One Mind. “We built the Mental Health at Work Index to support business leaders in leading transformational change and we are already seeing the potential realized across organizations who have engaged with the Index.”
This year’s World Changing Ideas Awards showcase 50 winners, 127 finalists, and 172 honorable mentions—with health, education, energy, and AI among the most popular categories. A panel of Fast Company editors and reporters selected winners from a pool of more than 1,300 entries across climate, social justice, wellness, politics, technology, corporate social responsibility, and more.
Fast Company’s Spring 2024 issue (on newsstands May 21, 2024) will unveil some of the world’s most creative minds and pioneering organizations that are seeking to disrupt the status quo. The solutions cover everything from renewable energy storage and waste in the fashion industry to a building made entirely from recycled concrete and a fridge that’s solar-powered and designed to run off the grid.
“I was struck this year by the global sweep of the honorees,” says Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “It’s endlessly inspiring to see how the world is coming together to devise inventive solutions to our most challenging problems. We need ideas from everywhere, and this year’s World Changing Ideas Awards are an extraordinary encapsulation of the innovation and creativity that is so abundant around the globe.”
