One Mind Launches Major Fundraiser to Support Mental Health App For Frontline Healthcare Workers

Healthcare Heroes App

Since the pandemic began, healthcare workers have faced overwhelming conditions that place enormous stress on their mental health, causing debilitating depression, anxiety and psychological distress.

And now, as the COVID-19 case and death rates start to climb again, our frontline healthcare workers will be pressed to endure even more.

To protect the health of these healthcare heroes and to ensure that they get the care that they deserve, One Mind is spearheading a fundraising campaign for the HEROES HEALTH INITIATIVE that will enable healthcare workers to track their mental health and access the crisis support and resources they need.

Developed by the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine, UNC Health, and X Development, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet, Heroes Health is an app-based initiative that provides healthcare workers with an easy way to track their mental health and access crisis support and resources when they need help.

“Healthcare workers are working long hours in highly contagious environments, often without adequate safety equipment, and are expected to make life-saving decisions while deprioritizing their own health and the health of their families,” said One Mind President Brandon Staglin. “These demands place enormous stress on the physical and mental health of COVID-19 healthcare workers. Heroes Health will provide mental health support for our front-line caregivers and is an important demonstration of how private sector innovation is essential in our response to the pandemic.”
