Sept 26, 2022, Napa, CA – A lively and supportive audience enjoyed a great night of comedy at One Mind’s inaugural It’s No Joke, a Comedy Benefit for Mental Health, on Friday September 23 at the historic Uptown Theatre in downtown Napa, California. Hosted by Brandon Staglin, president of One Mind, the evening featured the comedic brilliance of headliner Howie Mandel, with Maria Bamford and Yamaneika Saunders.
One Mind launched the It’s No Joke comedy benefit as a way to normalize mental health and raise funds for their nationally recognized mental health non-profit, and the event succeeded in these goals as recognized in the response the audience gave Brandon during his opening remarks.
“It was wonderful to see the audience’s heartfelt support for mental health,” stated Brandon Staglin. “We built this event on the belief that laughter heals, and from the response we witnessed at the event, a lot of healing took place.”
Unique to the event was that all of the performing comedians were selected because of their outspoken support of mental health and their history of weaving their own mental health stories into their acts.
