
Ericka Tenta
Ericka Tenta is a social entrepreneur, writer, African development activist, and mental health advocate committed to using her gifts and talents to challenge the status quo in every sense of the term. She holds a BA in Global Public Health & Anthropology from New York University and is a 2nd year Master’s candidate at the Yale School of Public Health. Passionate about entrepreneurship and start-ups, Ericka has over 4 years of experience working with start-ups in their customer discovery, customer development, and value proposition/business model creation stages. She has also worked as an Investment Associate Intern for a consumer-focused Venture Capital firm where she gained experience outsourcing brands and conducting due diligence.
As a black woman born in Pennsylvania and raised in Central Africa, she has navigated the complexities of living within two different worlds and systems concurrently – a reality that has caused her significant mental health breakdowns and stays at the hospital. Shocked by the systemic realities Black women face in healthcare, she is dedicated to advocating for equity through creative outlets.
