
Gwill York
Ms. York co-founded Lighthouse Capital Partners in 1994 where she oversaw investments and operations. Lighthouse committed over $2 billion to over 500 venture-backed companies in six limited partnerships. Lighthouse Series A healthcare investments included Vertex, NxStage, Insulet, Foundation Medicine, Alnylam, and Millennium. Notable Series A technology investments include NVIDIA, Netflix, Impossible Foods, and Angie’s List.
Gwill serves on the Board of two public companies and co-manages Awareness Capital Partners investing in emerging companies improving the lives of people with serious mental illnesses. She is the President of the Board of The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. She was the Board Chair of the Boston Museum of Science and Chair of the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows. Gwill was appointed Entrepreneur in Residence at the Harvard Business School in 2009 and was re-appointed annually until her election to the Harvard Board of Overseers in spring of 2013. She was a Board Member of The New England Venture Capital Association for nine years. She is a founding board member of One Mind, the Women’s Foundation of Boston, the Goodness Web, and the Systems Biology Department of the Harvard Medical School. She is a founding Advisory Board member of 10 Million Names and Ariadne Labs, founded by Atul Gawande.
