Vice President, One Mind Academy

Tahilia Rebello, PhD, is Vice President of the One Mind Academy, where she leads initiatives that integrate science, research, training, and education across One Mind to drive progress in neuroscience and mental health. She focuses on translating scientific discovery into real-world impact, collaborating with researchers and organizations to advance high-impact research and develop practical solutions, including trainings and educational programs.

With 18 years of experience in mental health, Dr. Rebello earned her PhD from Columbia University, studying the long-term effects of early-life stress and trauma. She later trained at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Switzerland, shifting her focus to public health and global mental health. She has held scientific, leadership, and consultancy roles at WHO, the WHO-Columbia Collaborating Center for Global Mental Health, the Africa Mental Health Training and Research Foundation, and Columbia University, where she remains an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry.

Her work includes supporting WHO’s mental health guidelines, managing global research on detecting and diagnosing mental health conditions, building clinician training platforms, and developing programs in East Africa and Japan to address mental health and trauma.

Dr. Rebello finds deep personal connection between nature and mental health, seeing in it a reflection of constant evolution, resilience, and growth. Being outdoors provides her with clarity, renewal, and a space for learning—values she brings into her work, where she remains committed to ensuring that scientific progress leads to meaningful improvements in mental health care and well-being worldwide.
