Colleen McClung, Ph.D., Johnson & Johnson / IMHRO Rising Star Translational Research Award winner, presents her lab’s investigation into how to develop potentially better mood stabilizing drugs to help people with bipolar disorder. By inhibiting in mice only specific genes which, when hyperactive, can lead to “mania”, McClung hopes to launch the development of safer alternatives to today’s mood stabilizers.
