One Mind Lived Experience Council Expands, Adds Two New Members

We’re excited to announce that the One Mind Lived Experience Council (OMLEC) has expanded, growing from six members to eight with the addition of two new appointees: Amanda Geisinger and Tracie Ibrahim.

The One Mind Lived Experience Council was formed to advance the co-creation of effective, ethical, and engaging mental health solutions by guiding leaders to address the genuine needs and interests of the communities they serve. Council members bring both professional expertise and personal insight, enabling them to guide science, innovation, and workplace policy for meaningful impact on human lives.

“Amanda and Tracie stood out among a group of incredibly qualified candidates  for their leadership in mission-aligned fields and their passion for advocacy,” said Brandon Staglin, One Mind’s Chief Advocacy & Engagement Officer and Council Chair. “Each brings hard-won expertise that position them both as powerful champions of our shared cause. I am delighted to welcome them both to the Council!”

Through their work, OMLEC members advocate for approaches that more effectively meet the needs of individuals living with significant mental health challenges—ensuring that research, programs, and policies are grounded in real-world perspectives.

We’re proud to welcome our new members and look forward to the valuable contributions they will bring to the Council and to the broader mental health community.

The new members will be joining existing council members: Uma R. Chatterjee, MS, MHPS, neuroscientist, science communicator, and mental health advocate; Linea Johnson, MHL, author and entrepreneur; Scott Kelsey, Founder & CEO of Shareapy; Jon Nelson, Director of Lived Experience at Motif Neurotech; Alex Sheehan, Behavioral Health Program Manager; Mental Health Advocate; Doctoral Student; Health Policy Research Scholar; and Brandon Staglin, MS (Chair), One Mind Co-Founder and Chief Advocacy & Engagement Officer.

Meet the Newest Members of the One Mind Lived Experience Council

Amanda Geisinger,
Design Director, Survivor, and Mental Health Advocate

Amanda is an Emmy winning Director of User Experience and Product Design and has spent her career forming and shaping the digital landscape of the American media industry. She and her all-star teams have successfully led mainstream television, entertainment, and news organizations through the ever evolving technology space by crafting the products and processes that shape both industry standards and the daily experiences of hundreds of millions of users.

She nourishes her soul with a daily personal practice of cartoon making that captures the small, delightful moments and everyday kindnesses that she encounters on the streets of New York City, where she lives. Her favorite color is rainbow, her favorite shape is DEFINITELY a circle, and she is oddly but shamelessly passionate about the visual properties of light.

Her aspiration is to be a source of light herself by validating the reality of the profound suffering of severe mental illness and helping all people see the awe-inspiring beauty in the world and in themselves.

“As a designer, I’m responsible for the user experiences of the products my teams and I create and it’s such a privilege to be able to bring both my professional expertise and my own real life “user experience” of obtaining mental health together to serve such a profoundly important mission and impactful organization. My life was saved by a compassionate team of scientists and practitioners who were driven to create a world with less suffering and it’s such an honor to formally support others on that journey.”

Tracie Ibrahim

Tracie Ibrahim, LMFT, CST is a mental health executive, licensed clinician, and advocate with more than 30 years of experience across diverse behavioral health settings. Her work has focused on developing and delivering specialized, evidence-based assessments and treatments for individuals across the lifespan, while helping expand access to high-quality mental health care through both non-profit and private program development and clinical leadership.

As Chief Compliance Officer for the world’s largest digital specialty mental health treatment company NOCD/Noto, Tracie leads initiatives focused on implementing and maintaining evidence-based treatment models while ensuring strong clinical and regulatory compliance standards. Her work supports the delivery of effective, ethical care at scale. An important focus of her efforts is dedicated to promoting lived experience perspectives, ensuring staff feel engaged and able to thrive in the flexibilities offered, aimed at supporting a true work/life balance.

In addition, Tracie is the owner of Specialized Psychological Services, where she has spent more than two decades developing specialized workshops, providing clinician training, and delivering direct therapeutic services. She is also a member of the One Mind Lived Experience Council and serves as a Global Advocate for the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), contributing her expertise and voice to national and global mental health advocacy efforts.

Tracie’s commitment to advocacy is deeply personal. Having managed her own SMIs including, but not limited to, severe, medication-resistant OCD, treatment-resistant Persistent Depressive Disorder, and PTSD since early childhood—and raising three children with SMIs and neurodivergence—she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. This perspective fuels her dedication to reducing stigma, improving access to effective treatment, and promoting systems that better support individuals and families navigating complex mental health challenges.

Through leadership, grassroots program development, and fierce advocacy, Tracie continues to champion a future where evidence-based mental health care is accessible, compassionate, and informed by both science and lived experience.

“I am REALLY SUPER-DUPER honored and bursting with excitement and inspiration to be joining such a dynamic and dedicated team of like-minded humans! It is really special to me that I am going to get to share my fiery passion for advocacy, fueled by lived experience, with the rest of the council members—working together to enliven and further One Mind’s mission.”

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for the Council

In collaboration with the One Mind Community Advisory Network, members of the One Mind Lived Experience Council also contribute regularly to the One Mind Lived Experience Blog—a bi-weekly publication that highlights personal stories and first-hand perspectives from individuals living with serious mental illness. Through these reflections, contributors share insights, challenges, and moments of resilience, helping to elevate voices that are often underrepresented in conversations about mental health.

Looking ahead, one of the Council’s key areas of focus will be Flourish@Work, an initiative designed to help employers better support, retain, and develop employees living with serious mental illness (SMI). The program aims to promote recovery, productivity, and workplace equity by equipping organizations with practical strategies and guidance. Led by Brandon Staglin, with key contributions from consulting Project Research Lead Priya Chirayil, Flourish@Work will provide employers with tools and resources to offer meaningful support for workers with significant mental health conditions—helping create workplaces where individuals can thrive.Learn more about the One Mind Lived Experience Initiative and view all the latest blog posts here.
