Living with Loss: Amanda Kloots on Life, Death, Trauma & Recovery

“You might not have tomorrow, so do things today and live your life to the fullest,” Amanda Kloots shares her emotional story of loss, grief, and recovery on the latest episode of Healing with Tom Insel.

After the untimely death of her late husband, fellow Broadway Actor Nick Cordero, Amanda Kloots suddenly had to learn how to cope with grief and loss while also navigating motherhood as a newly single parent of her then 1-year-old son, Elvis. In this conversation, Actress, Dancer, Author, and Co-Host of The Talk, Amanda Kloots, joins mental health expert and Former Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Dr. Thomas Insel, for an interview about coping with grief and finding ways to heal from trauma.

Amanda also discusses some of the lessons she’s learned throughout her experience, including how her views of hospitals have changed, and how challenging it is to have to deal with the business side of death while still mourning the loss of a loved one. Additionally, Amanda shares some of the practices and learnings that she found to be the most helpful on her healing journey since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic that turned her life upside down.
